These are uncertain times - Please see a summary below of what we are doing to protect our members, visitors and staff during this period.

If you have any concerns please feel free to contact us.

Please note: If you or any member of your household have displayed any of the symptoms of the COVID-19 virus as set out by the government (see guidance here), please do not visit Silver Leys for at least 14 days after your symptoms have cleared. thank you for your understanding.

How many people can play?

The Hurlingham Polo Association (governing the sport in the UK) has carefully followed the Government advice throughout this crisis. As a result, Silver Leys may now host players on their grounds with a number of stipulations. The number of people who can be on the field at any one time is one of these restrictions. As a maximum, we are permitted to have 6 players on the pitch at any given moment.

Who can visit?

At present, there are limits on the number of people who can accompany players to the club. We kindly ask that for the time being, only those who will be participating in the sport attend - this includes one groom and one driver per player for those who are bringing their own horses to the grounds on a visiting basis.

When will spectators be allowed back?

We are currently working hard to plan for allowing spectators back to the grounds of Silver Leys - look out for more information coming soon about private pitch-side parking bays that will allow for family picnics in a safe environment with the best entertainment that summer has to offer!

What if I want to play?

There are a number of options for those who are keen to get back in the saddle (or even those who have never tried it before). Our Polo School is now back up and running, able to offer both private and small-group teaching - please hit the button below to get booked in for your summer polo fix. Horses are available for hire for those who do not have their own. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise when we will be able to host our regular tournaments. We will keep all updated as soon as we know more.

What should I expect at the club?

There are a number of precautions being taken at the club to lower the risk of transmission, beyond the restriction of playing and spectating. Upon entry to the club, all visitors must have their temperature checked, we kindly ask that you respect the government social distancing guidelines at all times and remain two metres from other members and visitors as far as possible, and handwash and sanitiser are available at several points throughout the club, please wash your hands regularly and thoroughly. For those who are visiting for a polo lesson, please bring your own riding hat and wear gloves. There will be PPE available at the club by contactless payment from a vending machine within the clubhouse shortly.
