British Country Festival 2019

Drama, speed, adrenaline. It has it all.

Grab your seats (or picnic blankets) beside the polo pitch and get stuck into watching one of the most exciting sports on 4 legs... not that we are biassed! We have a whole weekend of dramatic polo matches featuring international level professionals, there is a handy commentary to make sure that everyone knows what is going on and so don't worry if you don't know the rules! Listen out for the call to tread in the divots at half time - leave the stillettos behind and relive all your My Fair Lady dreams!

From Tug of War, Welly Wanging and a wheel-barrow race to pony rides!

With fun for all the family, discover the best of British Country Fair entertainment on Sunday 1st September this year. We have a hotly contested tug of war which even got the dogs involved last year, plenty of other games and most excitingly, the chance to sit on one of the incredible polo ponies! Don't forget to grab a photo of your child on their first polo pony! (Yes... I said first!)

Enter your prize pooch into the MOST prestigious competition of the year...

Where there are horses, there are always dogs nearby! Silver Leys has a whole host of dogs owned by members, players, friends and families. Bring along your own beautiful best friend and enter them for categories ranging from Best Veteran and Best Crossbreed to Dog and Owner Twins. Keep your eyes on our social media for updates on the classes closer to the time!

Whether you are looking for a delicious salad or you are just grabbing a locally-sourced burger from our clubhouse bbq, there is something for everyone. Enjoy the  afternoon serenaded by one of our friendly live artists, providing the perfect backdrop to polo in the sunshine - if you want to find out more about their music and book them for your own event (at the club or at home), just get in touch with one of our event team.

Clubhouse Food

Tuck into hand-made salads, Aberdeen Angus burgers (with or without cheese) from Humphreys' in Bishop's Stortford, beetroot veggie burgers, haloumi specials and home-made cakes for a truly spectacular picnic beside the polo field.
